KAZIMIR MALEVICH

Not even the shortest textbook on world art culture is possible without mentioning Kazimir Malevich, one of the main representatives of the Russian avant-garde. Using the simplest forms and the play of saturated colors, Malevich created his own artistic language by 1915–1916. His followers then transferred this language to architecture and theater, textiles and porcelain. Since the middle of the 20th century, the avant-garde has always represented Russia on the world stage. Nowadays the artists of this style are considered to be among the most expensive in the world

EKSTER

Alexandra Exter — is a prominent representative of Cubofuturism and Suprematism, a graphic artist, theater and film decorator, illustrator and designer. The only member of Malevich’s group “Supremus”, allowed into the studio when maestro wrote his Suprematist paintings. Her works were exhibited at numerous exhibitions, her solo exhibitions were held in Berlin, London, Paris, New York and Prague. Her works are kept in museums and private collections around the world. In Paris, there is the Society of Alexandra Exter, carrying out the search for the unknown heritage of the artist.

GABO

Naum Gabo — is one of the pioneers of constructivism, abstract and kinetic art. The author of the "Realistic Manifesto", which outlines the "software" installation of constructivist art. He became Honorary Knight of the Order of the British Empire, Dr. habil. in Royal College of Art in London and a professor at Harvard University. The works of Naum Gabo are widely represented in museums of Western Europe and the USA. He has left his mark in history as an outstanding Russian sculptor, graphic artist, painter and set designer of the 20th century.

DELAUNAY

Sonia Delaunay — was the first woman artist whose personal exhibition was held in the Louvre during her lifetime. She created a new pictorial style, named "simultanism", a kind of cubism depicting “the movement of color in the light.” She left her mark in history as one of the first avant-garde artists of Russian origin, who combined art and clothing. Sonia Delaunay even had her own fashion houses in Paris and Madrid.
